Yesterday, Ubisoft held an annual financial report for shareholders, during which the company's representatives shared important details about the successes of the recent past and plans for the future.
The publisher named Far Cry 5 as the best-selling game of 2018 and the most successful release on the current generation of consoles. No figures, but the result is very easy to believe, given the data for March 2018, when the project took charts' first place despite the release date (March, 27th), that is, just a few days before the end of the reporting month. Other successes include For Honor, Rainbow Six Siege, Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey, both parts of Tom Clancy's The Division and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands.
The long-term Skull & Bones, developing the mechanics of sea battles from Assassin's Creed, is delayed again. The release date is named somewhere in March 2020. A little earlier, the television series in this universe will come out. The game will not be shown on E3 2019.
Ubisoft has also announced that three "unannounced" projects will appear in the period from January to March 2020. Given that Assassin's Creed has taken a two-year break, and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint has already been officially announced, this information sets an excellent area to speculate of. We can only say with confidence that the new Watch_Dogs is just around the corner. Splinter Cell? Almost likely.
We will find out more about the company's plans on June 10 at a press conference as part of E3 2019.
