THQ Nordic анонсировала Darksiders Genesis — спинофф в стиле Diablo

THQ Nordic has just unveiled another brand new game within its three-day series of announcements. And while yesterday’s return of Spongebob wasn’t that much exciting, today we have something really special – a new Darksiders game! It’s not the fourth major entry though, but rather a Diablo-esque spin-off called Darksiders Genesis.

The game debuted with a short teaser packed with both CGI intro and a few glimpses at the gameplay. First of all, we get to see the fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse – Strife – in action. Looking like a blend of Overwatch’s Reaper and Destiny’s Cayde-6 (and sounding like the latter), Strife continues to point his guns at the army of demons – and judging by his words that he’s not alone, Darksiders Genesis will put an emphasis on cooperative play. Indeed, he’s then shown paired with War in fast-paced ARPG battles, although we know what you are all hoping for – a proper four-player co-op with all the Horsemen at once. Unfortunately, the official description mentions only Strife and War who were given the assignment to solve the mystery of Lucifer’s evil plan.

Darksiders Genesis doesn’t have a release date yet, but the teaser suggests it will hit Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Google Stadia. While it’s not Darksiders 4 obviously, the game does a great job at introducing Strife as a fully playable character. The only concern is that THQ Nordic might be interested in rushed milking the franchise a lot more than in releasing a quality product.
