Team Liquid launches new lineup for competitive Dota Auto Chess. It was complicated to believe in such a great interest in this sphere a couple of months ago, but the main competitive hit of 2019 continues its development, and one of the best esports organisations in the world became seriously interested in it.
Two players in Dota Auto Chess will represent the "liquids": George “Hyped” Maganzini (the winner of WePlay! Artifact Mighty Triad: Strength) will enter the game from Artifact, and the former professional player in League of Legends Eric “Tabzz” van Helvert will join the Netherlands’ department.
Team Liquid's co-CEO Steve Arhancet notes in a press release that they [the team] see support for a competitive ecosystem:
“There's matchmaking, tournaments, leagues and the developer has even been promoting these events in the loading screen — which I take as a direct indication that they support the growth of the competitive ecosystem.”
We can only wait to see if other organisations will follow the example of Team Liquid.
Dota Auto Chess is a user mode in Dota 2, and it's average online is about 200 thousand users. The developers have announced an independent Auto Chess game for Android and iOS on March 14. On March 30, two new figures were added - Mars and Zeus. The next day, the custom map broke another record in downloads - 7 million. New figures Dazzle and Io appeared on the test server on April 24 and 27. Today, over 8 million (!) people have subscribed to the Auto Chess user map.
