Swim: «Потраченное на подготовку к турниру время значит больше опыта»

Sean “swimstrim” Huguenard advanced from the group stage of WePlay! Artifact Mighty Triad: Agility, and will be playing in the group stage tomorrow. We’ve asked him a couple of questions about the games and plans for the future.

EG.swim is the biggest current Artifact streamer and one of the heavy favourites of WePlay! Artifact MT:A. He advanced from Group C through Decider match by winning against LifeCoach.

The interview

WePlay!: Did the decider match against Lifecoach go the way you expected?

EG.swim: Yeah, the decider match went the way I expected. Lifecoach is a player I was always scared to go against in Gwent, but he's been playing a lot less constructed than me in Artifact, and it showed in his deck lineup. At the end of the day how much time you put in matters more than veteranship (which is why so many qualifiers are outperforming invitees), and he's just been putting in less time right now.

WePlay!: Do you think that LifeCoach would play better if he were at home during the games?

EG.swim: I think LifeCoach just needs a ranked ladder and maybe an update or expansion. Like the rest of us, motivation is the most important thing; he just underprepared, and honestly given Artifact's current state I don't blame him.

WePlay!: Before the tournament, you said you wanted to avoid making mistakes. Did you reach your goal? How do you rate your play overall?

EG.swim: I didn't reach my goal of avoiding making mistakes, unfortunately. In my second series, in particular, I should have won against Real_MAN, I feel, but I was playing very chunky and tilted a bit as well. Ultimately the group stage didn't go as well for me as I had hoped, I prepared a ton for this event, and a 2-1 finish with too many misplays is something I know I can and should do better than.

WePlay!: If you win the tournament, how do you plan to spend the prize? Maybe some stream giveaways?

EG.swim: Maybe I'll start doing community tournaments like Stan :).

WePlay!: Did you feel the support of your fans before/during/after the games?

EG.swim: Honestly the fact that my viewers and fans hold me to high expectations is the sole reason I prepped for two weeks straight for this tournament and am, at the time of writing this answer, currently booting up my strim to prep for ro16 decks.

WePlay!: Are there opponents you would like to avoid in the bracket?

EG.swim: Nope, all about the same.
