Since Immortals Gaming Club acquired OpTic Gaming, many of the latter's rosters have left the organisation in search of other opportunities. Like their champion Gears of War team that departed earlier in the year. The latest squad to leave the organisation is OpTic’s CS:GO roster.
After finishing at the bottom of Group A in ESL Pro League Season 10 Group Stage, in-game leader Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen and the rest of the team stepped down from the squad. The team benched themselves due to what they claim to be a lack of support from the organisation. Following rumours of his departure, René "cajunb" Borg was signed by North just before their Pro League appearance which must have added to their frustration. They quickly had to find a replacement and managed to secure Oliver "kwezz" Rasmussen.
According to MSL, the lack of support has been because OpTic has been up for sale since July. Immortals own a couple of esports brands, and when it acquired Infinite Esports, it received OpTic as well. The problem is, it also owns MIBR, and since many tournament organisers prohibit organisations from having more than one team compete, one of them had to go.
MSL announced his interest in playing for a North American or European team on Twitter but also stated that he’s in no hurry to move. The entire roster will wait either for a new organisation that will be willing to buy them off of OpTic or till their contracts expire.
