LGD Gaming Jungler Xiang “Condi” Ren-Jie has been banned for 18 months following his part in a match-fixing scandal.
Condi confessed to a number of offenses, beginning with placing a bet on one of their matches during the NEST tournament. The team's manager, Song “Hesitate” Zi-Yang learned of this, and since Summer Split, began blackmail attempts to get Condi to throw matches.
The Jungler recently confessed to stop Hesitate from blackmailing him and publicly apologised on social media for his crimes.
LGD Gaming has since terminated Condi's contract and fired Hesitate. Two Tencent League of Legends Pro League (LPL) players, Fu “Fdy” Ding-Yuan and Tang “1ntruder” Sheng alongside a staff member, Chen "Nara" Siqi, also had their contracts terminated for related offences.
Hesitate received a permanent ban from League of Legends while both LPL players were given 10 month bans instead.
In a Facebook post, LGD Gaming accepted their unwilling part in the scandal and apologised to all affected parties. The team is also reserving the right to pursue legal action against all guilty parties.
That same day, LGD announced a new roster for their match against FPX but unfortunately lost the game by one 1 point.
