Ubisoft has officially unveiled Ghost Recon: Breakpoint – the successor of the popular open-world co-op shooter Ghost Recon: Wildlands. While the latter game isn’t old enough to be moved away, the former will make its debut anyway – the release is happening in October 2019.
Wildlands was sort of an experiment for the franchise, and it proved to be successful. Breakpoint utilizes the same formula, but it serves as both the solution to some of the inevitable issues of Wildlands and the innovative evolution of the series. First of all, the newest game is going to focus on the narrative and cinematic experience, which were obviously lacking in Wildlands. Your character will die faster (just a few hits will be enough), will have a stamina indicator, the ability to interact with the environment and customize weapons on the go.
As we’ve mentioned before, the main antagonist of Breakpoint is indeed the recently introduced to the series character of Cole D. Walker portrayed by Jon Bernthal. He joins the fight with his military group Wolves and an army of drones. These are worthy opponents for the Ghosts who will face the enemies equipped with high-end technological advances and armed with serious military training.
Not only Breakpoint serves as a direct sequel, but also the developers will allow the players to transfer their characters from Wildlands to the newest game – along with the unlocked skills, customization options, and rewards. The co-op playthrough is the major part of gameplay experience all over again; Ubisoft plans to support the game with a constant flow of additional content in long-term.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint will hit the shelves on October 4, 2019. The game will be released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Presumably, on the latter platform, the game will be a limited time exclusive for Epic Games Store.
