Gen.G одержала победу на ESL One: Road to Rio для Северной Америки

Gen.G defeated FURIA Esports in the ESL One: Road to Rio - North America Grand Finals with a 2-1 score.

Both teams topped their respective brackets in the Group Stage, but while the champions lost one match to Cloud9, the Brazilian squad went through the first stage without a single loss. Playing Cloud9 in the Semifinals, Gen.G got their revenge before heading into the finale. 

Gen.G had a great run on the first map, Train, however, FURIA Esports hit back hard on Vertigo. With a map each, both teams put all they had into Inferno, and though the Brazilian squad immediately took the lead, it was the North Americans that secured the first half. FURIA Esports didn't relent, but lost the game after suffering three consecutive clutches by Kenneth "koosta" Suen and Damian "daps" Steele. 

Gen.G denied FURIA Esports from seizing victory just like they did during the DreamHack Open Anaheim Grand Finals in February, sparking up what could be the beginnings of a beautiful rivalry. In the third-place match, Cloud9 beat Team Liquid 2-1.

Gen.G earned $18,000 and 1600 RMR points, while FURIA Esports received $13,000 and 1500 RMR. Team Liquid walked away with $8,000 and 1400 RMR points. At the bottom Orgless were disqualified while Yeah Gaming received no prize money and only 600 RMR.
