Last week esports pro Braxton "swag" Pierce announced his retirement from competitive Counter-Strike to begin a career in Riot Games' upcoming tactical first-person shooter, Valorant. Yesterday, the Korean team T1 announced the signing of swag under his new in-game name, Brax.
Brax began his competitive Counter-Strike career in 2012 playing for TEAM4NOT, but he's most known for his time with Complexity Gaming and iBUYPOWER. Some of his accolades include first-place finishes at CEVO Season 5 Professional, ESEA Season 11 - Invite Division, ESEA Season 16 - Global Invite Division, and a second-place finish at ESEA Global Finals Season 14.
I'm excited to announce I will be joining T1 as their first Tactical FPS player ever. I'm eager to carry my knowledge and understanding of CS over to Valorant as we both look to build the best team in the world. I couldn't be more confident that we will accomplish great things. https://t.co/WmEAyxsMWx

T1, along with Brax, is the first organization to declare their entry into Valorant, a game that, as yet, has no release date. Considered a fusion between CS:GO and Overwatch by many, the game focuses on precision and strategic thinking. Valorant caught the eye of many pros, and it probably won't be long before other organizations announce their interest in the game.
A powerhouse team in League of Legends that has won three World Championships, T1 seems poised to become a top tier team in yet another Riot Games esport.
