Flashback: 14-20 мая ⚡⚡⚡ Игровые и киберспортивные новости, аналитика, обзоры, репортажи на WePlay! Самые актуальные новости!

Esports isn't the quiet field, and every week many exciting events happened. It can be quite hard to follow them all. We are continuing our section - you will be able to keep abreast of the most basic and curious events that have happened in the esports world over the past seven days.

Tournament of the week: EPICENTER Major Qualifiers

The end of the 2018/19 season in Dota 2 is getting closer! We have watched spectacular matches, and the best teams fought for tickets to the final Major of this Dota Pro Circuit season.

We summed up the detailed results of the Qualifiers: you can read about it by following this link. We can only say that the circle of applicants for getting into the Top-12 in DPC rating has already narrowed considerably, and the teams will have to jump over their heads if they want to go to Shanghai.

Drama of the week: judges at the EPICENTER Major Qualifiers

The teams at Qualifiers for the Moscow Major in Europe weren’t so lucky. The captains of two teams at once complained about the tournament administrators’ lack of professionalism. Ppd’s words about unfair judging were heard, and the error was corrected (however, this didn’t help for NiP), but n0tail’s request to extend the break for a short time was ignored.

The problem is essential, and it’s not a single one case. There are few excellent administrators in Dota 2, and no competent educational institution for training them. So we all have to compromise and work with what we have.

Good job of the week: Echo Fox story final

It seems the situation with one of Echo Fox investors’ racist behavior is coming to an end. Riot Games sided with Rick Fox and gave the club 60 days to end all ties with the guilty investor.

The organization itself issued a statement, according to which they should deal with the situation in a short period and noted intolerance towards racism again.

As for Mr Amit Raizada, probably we won’t see him in esports anymore. We express great respect to Rick Fox for not being afraid to raise this significant issue.

Reshuffles of the week

All the significant reshuffles in the Dota 2 and CS:GO universe in one place.

Dota 2

  • Tavo replaced monkeys-forever in Complexity Gaming

  • QO gathered a new team - Team Oracle

  • Hestejoe-Rotten moved to Infamous

  • Midas Club signed Dashka — H1j4ck — Hyko — rZs — Yadomi

  • Team Spirit signed Old but Gold

  • Cooman officially moved to Winstrike Team

  • Team Empire bought a contract with KingR

CS:GO

  • Windigo Academy replaced zendik to Shara

  • denis replaced nex in BIG main roster

  • AcilioN left Heroic

  • FCDB changed pnq to Ao-

  • LPSP! switched to Maknitude

  • Winstrike changed the coach: now Johnta rules the squad

  • Team Queso disbanded

Adventure of the week: Team Oracle

QO, the Korean-Australian player, known to many for his play in MVP.Phoenix, has to refuse reasonable offers since he has to live on the green continent for at least another year.

However, he didn’t despair and created a new organization for his own money - Team Oracle, which will be based in Australia and play Asian Qualifiers there, too.

Iceiceice did a similar act, creating Team Faceless a few years ago. Then the player admitted that the project didn’t pay off. On the other hand, it doesn’t seem that QO has any other choice. We will follow the success of Team Oracle with cautious curiosity, and we wish the project good luck and good game!

Leader of the week: Geguri

Se-yeon "Geguri" Kim, Shanghai Dragons tank and the only female player in Overwatch League, get into TIME magazine's list of "new generation leaders".

While esports has increasingly begun to get into the respected media ratings, the case with the Korean player is unique. TIME is a respected magazine, and Geguri is a player worthy of respect. She was accused of cheating, but she managed. Her club survived a disastrous first season in OWL, and she managed again. We are sure that if fate has a new test for her, then Geguri will cope. She is a role model, and TIME's choice is accurate.

Cosplay of the week: Sneaky

And we’ll finish our digest with the pleasant news. League of Legends Cloud9 player Zachary "Sneaky" Scuderi continues to set up his cosplay trap, depicting a wide variety of female characters. The Fate universe is too big and popular to bypass it, and Scuderi chose Mashu Kyrielight in a maid image. Let’s take a look at what happened.
