The American cable sports channel ESPN announced its own series of Apex Legends tournaments as part of the EXP program. So far, two tournaments have been announced: as part of the annual ESPYS 2019 award on July 11 and at the Minneapolis X Games in August.
Competitions will consist of professional, amateur and mixed formats. Earlier this year, the company held several events for students from all over the US on Overwatch, Street Fighter and StarCraft 2. Now ordinary users will get a chance to play Respawn's Battle Royale shoulder to shoulder with stars and streamers.
It seems that, despite the sharp decline in popularity, major representatives of the esports scene still consider Apex Legends a worthy competitor for Fortnite and PUBG, which can become one of the key disciplines.
