FACEIT Pro League was a Dota 2 invitational that kept professional players sharp while allowing other promising players to prove themselves and experience pro-level play. Due to busy schedules and the rigors of the Dota Pro Circuit, FPL events died out, but with the current health measures imposed around the world, it looks like FPL will be making a return.
Team Secret’s captain, Clement “Puppey” Ivanov is dedicating himself to reviving the FPL. In a recent tweet, he announced his plans and notified team managers that they would be receiving communications regarding the league via email.
I have reignited the Faceit players league @FPLCircuit for Dota 2. I want managers of teams to check their emails and individual players to check their twitter private messages. Thank you!— Clement Ivanov (@CLEMENTINATOR) April 27, 2020
The event will serve the same purpose it used to in the past, fill the gap during the unofficial offseason with a high-level Dota 2 league. Ideally, this would include drafts, captain mode, etc. It will also help nurture fresh upcoming talent in a highly competitive environment.
In a tweet of their own, FACEIT confirmed the revival of the Pro League and Puppey’s part in it. Invites are already out in the wild, on their way to top European teams and free-agents.
With the Dota Pro Circuit also negatively affected by the coronavirus pandemic, FACEIT Pro League makes just the right kind of action the competitive scene needs, joining events like WePlay! Pushka League in ensuring fans continue to receive awesome content.
