Среднее число игроков в CS:GO достигло исторического максимума

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was released seven years ago and has generally seen a reduction in average player base during the summer, but somehow it has managed to reach its highest average player count in history this August. This month CS:GO has seen an average player count of 402,524 beating its previous record from February 2017.

The game lost a number of players to popular battle royale games like Fortnite, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Apex Legends, but it's move to a free-to-play model in December 2018 seems to be winning new players over and could be attributed to this growth. 

The StarLadder Berlin Major is currently underway with the New Legends Stage about to begin in two days. According to Newzoo, CS:GO is one of the most watched esports alongside League of Legends and Overwatch, while the game also provides casual friendly modes like Wingman and Danger Zone. 

Since the game historically sees higher player base numbers from December to January, it will be interesting to see whether it will beat its new record so soon.
