In the latest episode of Side Pull Podcast, it was revealed that William “Blitz” Lee would coach the new Team Liquid squad through Dota Pro Circuit 2019-2020. As a result, most of his focus will be directed at the team and away from casting.
The awesome duo of Austin “Capitalist” Walsh and Blitz will still cast events together when possible though, since switching between both roles is nothing new to Blitz. The International 2014 was the first TI he commentated for, and he's been at every event since. However, in 2016 Blitz joined Team Liquid to support Kuro “KuroKy” Takhasomi's first roster. He then moved on to Digital Chaos and stuck with them through their transition into Thunderbirds and Planet Odd.
Although Blitz and Cap will be shoutcasting the upcoming ESL One Hamburg 2019 event which Team Liquid will also be competing in, the duo won't work like before. Cap will instead be working with Trent “TrentPax” MacKenzie through the competitive season with the hopes of casting TI10 together.
Blitz stated in a tweet and Cap confirmed that the new Team Liquid coach has no intention of casting TI10. He doesn't see his new appointment as a complete retirement from commentating. Blitz does, however, feel the need to reevaluate his life, considering crowds still cause him anxiety.
Trent will not be casting the first two LANs of the new season, DreamLeague Rotterdam and ESL One Hamburg. His debut with Cap will instead, most likely be at the Beyond the Summit Minor in Los Angeles, California.
