What is the WePlay Rankings?
It is a Bayesian ranking system. The Rankings are influenced by the results and number of games played, the opponent’s strength, and the overall performance of the Dota 2 team. Rankings of pro and non-pro teams appear in a single rating system.
How can teams get into the Rankings? And what's TNM?
Here’s how:
1) A team must have played at least 20 games in official tournaments or on the WePlay Tournament Platform.
2) The last game must have been played at least 2 months ago.
We have been keeping records of matches since 01.01.2018. Rating is updated once an hour.
You could also see the "TNM" in the sorting section. That's at an abbreviation, meaning "teams, that play on the Tournament Platform".
If I play in amateur tournaments or on the WePlay Tournament Platform, can I catch up with the rankings of professional teams?
Yes. Play and beat higher ranked teams and you will definitely succeed. When you feel that your team is strong enough, try yourself in the Pro tournaments.
How is a team’s performance considered?
The deviations from the statistical average of the major game indicators are compared.
Why we’ve created WePlay Rankings?
We have created a system that more accurately evaluates and predicts the strength of each team.

Another important point for us is to merge all teams into one Dota 2 rating system so that newcomers and non-professional teams can see their real position in the ranking with the world giants and gradually catch up with them.

In the future, we will create rankings table designed specifically for players, allowing each player to work to their own name.

WePlay Dota 2 Rating System

There are roughly two types of Dota 2 players: those who do it for fun, and those who want to hold The International cup in their hands one day. If you belong to the second one and are really determined to get to the pro-scene, we’ve got something that may help you – Dota 2 team rankings.

Dota 2 leaderboards help pro teams understand how well they’ve performed lately. At WePlay, we decided that aspiring amateur teams also need to understand if they’re making progress, so we launched Dota 2 rankings on our tournament platform. This means you can check the stats to understand if you’re on the right track with your training, and if not, this can motivate you and your teammates to practice harder. Also, if there’s a big WePlay tournament coming up, and you’re thinking about joining the qualifiers, you can check how you stack up to your opponents.

Our Dota 2 rating is a tool that can add a more systematic approach to your training and your matches. You can always see how well you’re doing compared to your rivals and how much you have to accomplish to catch up with professional teams you admire. It’s all in your hands, keep it up!
