During a press conference in Tokyo, The Pokemon Company revealed the Pokemon Sleep app among other similarly themed games. Since the success of Pokemon Go in 2016, the company has capitalised on its success, leading to the creation of quite a few new games and devices within the span of three years.
The app will record data such as how long you slept for and when you woke up, which will then influence your gameplay in some undisclosed way. The Pokemon Company hopes the game will also attract those interested in a healthy lifestyle. During the press conference, company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara disclosed release would be next year.
Another introduced product was Pokemon Home, a smartphone and Switch app that will enable players to access content from all their Pokemon games in one place.
The Pokemon Company also shared its plans for the Chinese market, beginning with an enhanced version of its 2018 game Pokemon Quest. Gaining 1.7 million player sign ups since May, the company has high hopes for the market. With Tencent winning preliminary approval to distribute the Nintendo Switch in China, the company will be able to fully penetrate the region with their products.
