The Witcher is growing up to be one of the most controversial shows Netflix ever created and games could be the reason why it is so. The majority of people who read and fell in love with Andrzej Sapkowski’s books are at least somewhat familiar with the game series set in the same universe, which picks up events from the place where the author left it off.
CD Project gave readers the general idea of how their favourite characters look like and this image is very hard to deny. With rumours that Cirilla, Geralt’s ward, might be a representative of ethnic minority and reports that Henry Cavill (Superman) will play the main character, many people became disappointed.
Netflix has recently shown the first look of Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia:

After watching the clip for the first time I had a feeling that it was missing something, and then I realized, “no cat eyes”! I decided to give it a closer look and saw, that the so-called Geralt is also missing his trademark dual sword setup (metal and silver) and the medallion. These witcher attributes were described in the books, not even in the games.
Feels like Henry Cavill is in a costume party and he didn’t pay much attention to details: black jacket, black gloves, white wig, and a tiny bottle would make a witcher out of anyone. By looking at this vid it also seems that Geralt has just washed his hair with L'Oréal shampoo and shaved with Gillette, instead of hunting monsters in the sewers, which what he is more likely to do.
Now I am looking forward to seeing how Netflix portrays other characters, like Yennefer and Dandelion.
