SuperData research holding has published the results of April's digital games market research. The company named ten most commercially successful games in April 2019.

Surprisingly, among the console and PC games, there are even standalone projects. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is ranked eight on the PC and third on consoles.

Except for a couple of singleplayer games, the entire list consists of service-games, it is especially noticeable in the mobile gaming market.

SuperData notes that total revenue from digital sales on all platforms amounted to $8,86 billion, which is 7% more than in April last year. The console market is the fastest growing of all segments: +17%. And on the PC there is stagnation and even a drop of 4%.

Some more facts:

  • Mortal Kombat 11 has its best release in franchise history
  • NBA2K revenue increases during the NBA season
  • Apex Legends earned $24 million in April — a quarter of the February figures: the game for the second month in a row is showing a drop in both income and popularity.
  • Overwatch and Hearthstone have serious problems, even with content updates. The revenue of both titles decreased by 15% and 37% compared to last year, respectively. The total income of these two games since the beginning of the year is 39% lower than in the same period of 2018.
