World War Z, the game based on the movie/book universe, had released last week. Despite the rather hackneyed mechanics of multiplayer zombie shooters, the project showed high sales. Within seven days the game made over a million copies sold, as Venture Beat reports.
Saber Interactive studio's head Matthew Karch expressed his surprise at such a successful start. It is noteworthy that the game has become exclusive for the Epic Store speaking about the PC platform. We can say that Steam is losing its grip, and the players, despite the flow of hatred towards Epic Store, acquire more and more games in it.
A quarter of sales came from US players. According to the developers, the highest number of simultaneously playing players was 70 thousand, registered last week. Most likely this figure includes all three platforms, including the consoles.
The co-op zombie shooter World War Z was released on April 16 on PC, Xbox and PS4. The game took the top sales in English retail stores, but according to analysts, it will soon be moved by Days Gone, which is coming out this week.
