Just yesterday ESP Gaming, a premiere gaming content company, announced the launch of a new tournament series - the World Showdown of Esports. Kicking things off with a DOTA2 event later this week, the event will be broadcast live from the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, where eight world-class teams are set to battle it out for their share of the 100,000USD prize pool.
The company aim to follow in the footsteps of boxing and martial arts competitions, crowning champions in a variety of genres. The franchise will feature year-round storylines, pitting some of the best competitors in the gaming industry against one another; DOTA2 will take the stage in the inaugural event. ESP Gaming have also announced ASUS Republic of Gamers will be the official hardware sponsor of the tournament.
The action kicks off on Sunday the 14th at 9AM PDT - tune in at twitch.tv/WSOE.
