E-frag.net have announced the second edition of their global World Championships series with an increased prize purse of $150,000 for 2016.
The first edition of The World Championships saw E-frag.net expand beyond hosting European championships in CS:GO with competing national teams and announce a 16 team, $100,000 event which had its offline finals in Belgrade, Serbia.
The 2015 TWC Finals eventually saw two European teams make it into the grand final, with France reigning supreme over Poland with a 3-1 series victory and thereby taking home first place and a $50,000 cheque.
The official announcement for The World Championships 2016 promises a number of increases: an expansion in the number of teams playing in the regional qualifiers and an increase in the prize-pool to $150,000 (with $50,000 of that money going into travel support and accommodation).

One number which will not be expanding however is the number of teams who will qualify for the offline finals that will take place in Belgrade, Serbia from October 12-16. Eight teams will now qualify rather than sixteen, perhaps a reflection of the myriad of issues that kept teams such as China and Portugal from attending the 2015 finals.
There will be six continental qualifiers that will commence on April 2016 to determine attending countries, every region (North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Oceania) will have one spot aside from Europe who will be given three slots.
E-frag.net have created a brand new website for The World Championships which can be found here and this site is also where national team captains can begin their registration effective immediately (found at the bottom of the page).
More information, including qualifier dates and official national team captains, will be made available as it arises.
