North American team Mythic, whose core were the previous Luminosity lineup, have now been signed by Winterfox, an organisation known for its previous League of Legends team.

Mythic, a lineup based in North America which fields two Swedish players in Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi and Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg, ran into tough times this past summer when the team lost their Luminosity sponsorship following an apparent issue with having two signed teams at once ahead of ESL One Cologne.

The team then encountered further difficulties with the loss of Peter "ptr" Gurney who announced his departure from the team, and turned to previous eLevate player David "Xp3" Garrido to fill out its new roster.

The team stuck together and continued to play in the highest echelons of North American Counter-Strike, with spots in both CEVO-P Season 8 and ESL ESEA Pro League Season 2.

The latest, and most successful, break came when Mythic managed to defeat Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan's Conquest in order to qualify for DreamHack Open Stockholm, which the team are currently already on-site for.

The team have now received a boost ahead of their qualification bid on this Thursday for the next CS:GO major via being signed by Winterfox, an organisation mostly known for its League of Legends team who were once known as Evil Geniuses but then rebranded due to new LCS branding rules.

Winterfox's CS:GO lineup is:

 Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi
 Alexander "LeX" Deily
 Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg
 Todd "anger" Williams
 David "Xp3" Garrido

The team are currently deployed in Sweden as they will be fighting in Group C of DreamHack Open Stockholm, the official offline qualifier for the next major at DreamHack Open Cluj.
