What to expect from Black Friday in 2018

What is Black Friday, when it happens and what games will be discounted?

Black Friday is a special time of the year when you can buy games with huge discounts. For those who don’t know, it started about 10 years ago when American retailers noticed a surge of buyers in a certain time of the year and decided to reap bigger profits from it.

What is Black Friday

Every fourth Thursday of November, residents of the USA celebrate Thanksgiving. Next Friday is a national holiday and most people have a day off. Since this day is relatively close to Christmas, smart buyers go on shopping sprees to purchase presents, decorations, and other goods before they surge in prices.

Retail stores saw this shopping spree as an opportunity and started selling off goods at discounts to attract even more buyers. This is what Black Friday essentially is.

When is Black Friday in 2018

This year Black Friday is on November 23rd, so mark this day in your calendars, that’s when you get those sweet deals. Usually, the deals are open throughout the weekend and the following week.

What games will be discounted during Black Friday in 2018

Each mindful developer and publisher offer sweet deals during Black Friday, so expect pretty much every game released before 2018 to be discounted. If you want to play the previous Hitman and Red Dead Redemption or catch up with huge game series like Assassin’s Creed or Metal Gear Solid, just wait till the end of November, and you’ll be able to purchase those games with huge discounts.

Discounts on games from before 2017 will reach ridiculous rates, up to 90%. New games won’t become cheaper, so don’t expect deals for Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey or Red Dead Redemption 2. We could get discounts on in-game items, but the title won’t go lower sooner than the second half of 2019.
