Who are WePlay! Esports and why did they start WeSave! Charity Play?

WePlay! Esports Media Inc. is an esports company that hosts a lot of Dota 2 and CS:GO tournaments. After the major offline events in the esports industry have been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided not to shy away from the problem and help as much as we could to bring our beloved events back. So, we created WeSave! Charity Play - an online tourney where all the teams are participating to bring some fun matches to the audience. The prize pool, together with all the donations from the viewers, will be transferred to the charity organizations that are helping to fight COVID-19. 

What does my donation actually go towards? 

Every donation that we get during the WeSave! Charity Play will be distributed evenly between GlobalGiving and CEPI funds.

About CEPI

Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) was launched at Davos (Switzerland) to develop vaccines and stop future epidemics. It is supported by the authorities of Norway, Germany, Japan, Canada, Australia, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Wellcome Trust foundation, and other charity organizations. CEPI,  in coordination with the World Health Organization as well as other partners, develops vaccines against the coronavirus. CEPI’s aim is to advance COVID-19 vaccine candidates into clinical testing and defeat the virus as soon as possible.

About GlobalGiving

GlobalGiving is a global crowdfunding community connecting nonprofits, donors, and companies in nearly every country. The organization partners with Hilton, Microsoft, Nike, Facebook, Ford, Cummins, Discovery, Google, and other companies to implement corporate social responsibility and philanthropy programs. The GlobalGiving Coronavirus Relief Fund was created to help and protect those who are the most vulnerable. The fund sends doctors and nurses to where they are needed the most; provides hospitals with masks, ventilators, and other lifesaving medical supplies; and delivers essential items to struggling families.

Does my donation go directly to CEPI and GlobalGiving?

All the donations are accumulated on the accounts of WePlay! Esports Media Inc. We have agreements with both of the funds on donating the funds to them as an organization. So after the marathon, all the donated funds and the prize pool will be distributed evenly between these two funds. 

How can I donate via Twitch? 

You can donate via their built-in system - Twitch Bits. If you already have them on your Twitch account, use cheermotes on our official Twitch channels - weplayesports_ru or weplayesports_en to make your contribution. We will add $0.01 (1 cent) to the prize fund for every spent Bit on those channels. Information about Bits and how to buy or use them can be found at https://www.twitch.tv/bits. 

How can I donate directly from the https://weplay.tv portal? 

• any user can donate (no matter if he/she is registered on weplay.tv platform or not).

• to grant you should fill the form with your nickname and amount of the donation on the page https://weplay.tv/donate-we-save and press Donate.

• after the successful donation, the user can download the certificate, which confirms his/her participation in the donation marathon WeSave! Charity Play from the WePlay! Esports.

• you can repeat the donation procedure as many times as you wish.

How do I get in touch with the WePlay! Esports?

How many times can I donate? 

You are welcome to donate as many times as you wish. 

Where can I see my donations?

• Donations on Twitch: you can see your donation activity directly on the stream in a special tile. There are two kinds of tiles - top donators (those who donated the most) and recent donators. Also, you can find the count of spent Bits on the top and bottom sections of Twitch chat.

• Donations on the website: after a successful checkout, you can see your donation on the donation page (https://weplay.tv/donate-we-save) on the "WeSavers" tab.

Does WePlay! Esports get any profit from WeSave! Charity Play? 

No. We do not get any profit. All the casters and staff engaged at the tourney chose to work pro bono because we all want to help to fight with the virus as much as we can. Also, the team’s prize pool will be transferred to CEPI and GlobalGiving funds.

Are there any limits to donations? 

Yes. As an anti-fraud action, we decided to set limits from $1 USD to $1,000 USD per donation via our site with Stripe.
