While the battle for the right to participate in WePlay! VALORANT Invitational is raging on virtual servers; we want to talk about the six teams that were invited to our tournament.
If you don’t know whom to cheer for, we’ve got you covered! Together with Igor “Helix” Mesheryakov, the commentator of ORCs Cup and other small CIS tournaments, we made our power rankings for all of the invited teams.
1. G2 Esports
The esports powerhouse has signed a very prominent roster of ex-CS:GO players. They have already conquered Vitality European Open, but we have yet to see their full power.
G2 has only recently completed its roster, but its performance during Vitality European Open clearly shows us why these players are stronger than most of the European teams. In addition to that, most of the players have already performed together before going under the G2 tag, so there is no question about their team chemistry
2. Party Parrots
This team is one of the main favourites of our Invitational. Party Parrots managed to win two relatively big European tournaments, and now they are contenders for being the best European team.
These guys are undoubtedly top-1 in CIS. No surprise, considering they have Shao, who is one of the best Sova players, and ANGE1, a very experienced IGL. Party Parrots were holding first place on the vlr.gg European rating and have only recently fallen. Vitality European Open showed us that PP has several equal rivals besides the newly-created G2.
3. Fish123
Here is another contender that can win it all. During the closed beta, Fish123 earned the most prize money. Unfortunately, they have recently undergone a roster change: ardiis joined G2 Esports, and the Latvian player was replaced by ScreaM, a legend of CS:GO.
It was not long ago when Fish123 was the uncontested leader in Europe. ScreaM is a solid addition, so we shouldn’t discount them. However, there is a red flag: Fish123 was demolished by Party Parrots and missed several European tournaments. That’s why it is impossible to predict how their performance has changed since their European reign.
4. Ninjas in Pyjamas
The roster of NiP consists of three Prodigy players, who got second place in Vitality European Open. It is worth mentioning that three players from the strong mix HypHypHyp joined rhyme, CREA and luckeRRR.
The NiP situation is very unclear. On the one hand, there are really strong players who show really great performances. On the other hand, NiP will debut with this exact roster, and that’s why it is impossible to place them highly
5. Prodigy
Prodigy is an agency; therefore, we can’t talk about it as a team. The organisation is constantly mixing strong players; however, we can’t talk about team chemistry.
Like NiP, Prodigy took a part of HypHypHyp. We can say that these two squads gathered some of the best European players. Also, chiwawa and PipsoN, ex-Worst Players, will play for Prodigy. They have shown some decent performances, so I would curiously watch their path on the European roster.
6. forZe
Out of the CIS esports powerhouses, forZe was the first to sign a VALORANT roster. EveryBodyDance was a decent CIS mix, but under the forZe banner, the players failed to reach the Epulze Valorant Prodigies play-off, placing last during the group stage.
At first this team performed greatly in our tournaments, also they were leading in prize money earned, but after signing contracts with forZe, they are really struggling in the European scene.
The winners of Open Qualifiers will join these six teams in the fight for a $50,000 prize pool. Don’t miss the WePlay! VALORANT Invitational on July 15 - 19!
