WePlay! Lock and Load: What can we expect in the first day? ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!
The first day of our WePlay! Lock and Load CS:GO tournament is just about to start, so it's a perfect time to have a deeper look on first 8 participating teams who will fight for their spot in the playoffs tomorrow.
FURIA Esports vs. Team Spirit
In the first best-of-one match we will see the Brazilian team FURIA Esports (the only participating team from Latin America) against the Russian-core Team Spirit. Both of the teams are more underdogs than aspirant for the trophy in this tournament, however, team Spirit just entered to TOP-20 worldwide ranking with great performance, especially on the CIS Minor last week where the team won against PGL Major Krakow winner Gambit Esports 2:0. On the other hand, the Brazilian players showed that their scene is not only about FalleN and coldzera anymore. The favourite of the match is FURIA Esports, but we are going with Team Spirit. The match starts at 12:00 CET.
Winstrike vs. Heroic
The second match is set at 13:15 CET where another Russian representative Winstrike will meet the Danish squad Heroic. This is going to be a good match to watch in our opinion because both of the teams just rebuilt their rosters and this tournament will be one of the first tests for them, at least for the Danes. I am personally can't wait to see blameF in OpTic Gaming or young prodigy in Winstrike - n0rb3r7. Our tip will again go with the Russian squad, mostly because they earned "The New Challengers" spot for the upcoming IEM Katowice Major.
Kinguin vs. pro100
The third match of the day will be Polish team Kinguin lead by the veteran from "Golden Virtus.Pro era" - Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas against the home-based team pro100 (which was found by another legend who is currently playing for Natus Vincere - Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko). If you look at the roster, you should agree with us that the Polish guys are favourites in this match, but like one of our good friend always said: "you NEVER know what's gonna happen on the server, especially in the best-of-one series". In this case, we still go with Kinguin guys. The match is set at 14:30
Virtus.Pro vs. Gambit Esports
Last, but not least match of day 1 will be (at least in my eyes) the best match of the day. Brand new lineup from Virtus.Pro will face PGL Krakow winner from 2017 - Gambit Esports. Nobody can say what we can expect, like no one. Not even us. Virtus.Pro recently said goodbye to legendary names from CS 1.6, NEO and pashaBiceps, bringing fresh young blood to the roster. The similar story is in Gambit Esport. Only Dosia and mou remained from the original roster, so it should be amazing to watch how the new players will stand in the huge tournaments like this. I don't want to do a prediction at all (I am too scared), but if I have to I will go with Virtus.Pro. If everything will go well, the match will start at 15:45 CET.
