Winter, a snowy blizzard outside, your favorite woolen throw blanket and hot tea… While someone actually has a winter like that, we're starting the new series of competitive tournaments!

WePlay.TV in partnership with Inno3D and NVIDIA are happy to announce the second series of semi-pro Dota2 tournaments - WePlay Dota 2 Winter Series! With the help of the series, you can challenge yourself and prove your worth to others, and maybe even make your way into the professional esports scene.

This winter season will last for three months (December 5^th, 2016 - February 5^th, 2017) with the $3,600 championship finals as the highlight of event. Overall prize fund is 445,500 WePlay Points + $4,800 USD (take into account that a part of the amount will be given out as the rare Dota2 items in the game; here you can find all information about WePlay Points).

The event format

In total there will be 75 matches played in 3 different formats:

- 25 in 1v1 Solo Mid format
- 25 in 3v3 Random Draft format
- 25 in 5v5 Captains Mode format

Each format actually contains 18 weekly battles and 6 monthly battles. According to the results of the monthly events, 12 strongest players/teams will go through and we'll host the concluding season finals. The final match will decide the WePlay Winter Series II champion and how the main prizes will be distributed!

The prizes will be given out by the following system:

*The 5v5 format winner will also get a slot in the closed qualifier to WePlay League Season 4. As of now the league starting date is unknown but will be announced later. 

As you can see, everyone can pick a convenient format and fight for a spot in the finals. As a bonus, lots of WPs and other cool in-game stuff are waiting for you.

How do I participate?

To take part in the WePlay Dota 2 Winter Series, you need to sign a team up first. You can do that by picking a corresponding tournament on WePlay.tv website where you can also read the tournament regulations and all the necessary information.

In addition, you can view this document containing detailed schedule of all WePlay Dota 2 Winter Series matches. In the doc you can check the time when a tournament starts and the prizes that will be given out for a specific competition.
