Hyped vs. Shana
Hyped is the champion of WePlay! Artifact Mighty Triad: Strength and SeatStory Cup X, and he is coming to MT:A as a heavy favourite. Hyped brought a Red-Green ramp and a Mono-Blue deck which are the most popular choices of the current meta. The ramp deck features 19 creeps including Emissary of the Quorum (x2) and Centaur Hunters from Spring the Trap (x3).
The Mono-Blue deck with 42 cards reminds of swim’s flavor; the difference is that Hyped cut out Conflagration (x1), one Aghanim's Sanctum and one Diabolic Revelation, and added Bolt of Damocles and Glyph of Confusion (one copy each) instead.
Shana is running two types of Red decks. The first one is R4B1 with Phantom Assassin as splash that works as a global duelist with Gank (x3). This combo should work well against Mono-Blue on paper, although it would benefit from more than one copy of Smash Their Defenses!. The Red-Green ramp has three copies of Unearthed Secrets that should help Shana draw the combo pieces necessary for this archetype.
We’ve seen a lot of upsets this tournament but unlike many other players invited to MT:A, Hyped has been actively practising, and he should win the first series quickly.

dpmlicious vs. Berry
dpmlicious is a rising star of the Artifact professional scene with good results in the previous tournaments. Unfortunately, she couldn’t get a good night’s sleep tonight, and we hope that it’s not going to impair her play.
For MT:A dpmlicious prepared an aggro Black-Red and a ramp Red-Green. The ramp deck lacks Unearthed Secrets, and the only draw tool it has is one copy of Smash Their Defenses!. There are some stall elements in the deck such as Spring the Trap (x3) and Enough Magic! (x2), and dpmlicious will have to use them smartly.
The Black-Red deck has lots of buff cards capable of snowballing the game out of control, although they are weak against enemy control.
Berry’s Red-Black deck is balanced and works mainly as a stall to help survive till Time of Triumph. The 19 creeps available in this deck will continuously keep the boards stacked. The Red-Green ramp deck features one copy of Unearthed Secrets and a Dark Seer to add cross lane mobility. The game plan is naturally to acquire ramp tools and play the late game behemoths as soon as possible.
As much as I would like to favour dpmlicious in this matchup, Berry’s decks look more balanced, and he should come on top at the end of the series.
