Warhammer: Chaosbane is the newest addition to the Warhammer franchize. It’s a very intensive game that can bring you hours of joy until you find yourself unable to beat the various Act bosses. That’s where the gear blessing and gem link combination come into play. They are one of the best ways to improve your stats in order to stand a chance against the bosses.

What does Gear Blessing do and how to do it?

To make a long story short, Gear Blessing is essentially making an item better compared to its previous version. However, before you do that, you need to unlock Item blessings first. You will be able to do that in between level 20 to 30 but usually, it will be around the early twenties.

In order to bless the item you have chosen, you need to get a special fragment. These fragments are dropping fairly frequently which means that you should be able to accumulate some before you decide to Bless your gear.

Gems

The next very important thing to have is a wide variety of gems. There are several different types of gems in the game - red, blue, yellow and green. All of them drop randomly as you level your character.

Each of the gems provides different flat stats. For example, the red and orange gems give flat damage, whereas the blue and green gems provide flat HP. While this might seem like a pretty straightforward thing, the devil in the details.

Whenever you start to combine the gems together, they will give your character different effects. Here are all the known combos so far. Keep it in mind that this will most likely change once the new updates are live.

  • Red + Orange = Armor piercing
  • Blue + Red = Critical damage
  • Green + Red = Critical Hit chance
  • Green + Blue = Armor
  • Orange + Blue = Maximum energy
  • Green + Orange = Counter-Attack damage

In order to be able to “mix” the gems, you need to unlock gem linking. You will be able to do it after the second mission of Act 4. These link gems are in the shape of a triangle as you can see in the picture below.

How many gems are needed?

The number of the gem fragments needed to bless an item depends entirely on the item’s minimum level requirements. So, if you have a level 40 axe, you will need 40 of any gems that you decide to use.

REMEMBER

Every Blessing that you do on an item removes the previous Blessings from it. For example, if you stacked raw HP before and then you decide to add some Armor to the item, the raw HP will disappear.

There is no cap regarding how many Blessing you can do. In fact, there is even an achievement for Blessing an item 50 times.

To sum up, perhaps the best thing to do is just save those gems for whenever you reach level 50. By doing this, you will be able to achieve the best results from your Blessings.
