Vici Gaming have finally confirmed their expansion to the Counter-Strike scene with the acquisition of CyberZen's team.
Vici Gaming, one of the most successful Asian organisations in MOBA games, boasting a Dota 2 team who finished fourth at The International 2015, had announced at the end of last year that they were keen on investing in the emerging Chinese Counter-Strike scene, which has garnered a lot of interest from the esports giants in the region.
With Chinese veterans Bin "Savage" Liu and BingYuan "tb" Li in their ranks,
CyberZen established themselves as the strongest team in China last year and attended in January the StarSeries global finals, where they took 7th-8th and had a three-map thriller against the current
FaZe team.
More recently, they were in action at the Asia Minor Championship, finishing 3rd-4th after losing to
Renegades in the semi-finals.
The announcement of Vici Gaming's foray into Counter-Strike comes just days after EDward Gaming, another organisation with ties to the League of Legends scene, signed their own team, featuring JianWei "wjw" Wang and ZiHao "HaoKing" Han, two players who competed at the recent Chinese StarSeries finals.
