God Bless
"G is a super person and a huge professional. You could feel it in his approach to the games and in his will to win," Alexander "StrangeR" Solomonov, Empire's esports director, said. "I want to thank Sergey for his role and all responsibility that he has taken on himself while playing in our team."
Neither Vega or Empire were unable to qualify for The Boston Major 2016. Empire hasn't attended a Valve-sponsored event since The Manila Major 2016 back in June, while Vega hasn't attended a Valve-sponsored event since The Frankfurt Major 2015 since November last year.
Here's what Vega's current roster looks like:
- Rostislav "fn" Lozovoi
- Sergey Alexandrovich "G" Bragin
- Andrey "Mag~" Chipenko
- Semion "CemaTheSlayer" Krivulya
- Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butaev
The selling of G's contract follows the departure of Ilya "ALOHADANCE" Korobkin on Nov. 12, which brings Empire's roster down to three players:
- Andrey "Ghostik" Kadyk
- Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov
- Rinat "KingR" Abdullin
Empire has been competing in the ProDotA Cup Europe #12 since with their three players and a mix of stand-ins, such as Ivan "VANSKOR" Skorokhod, Fedor "velheor" Rusihin, Vladimir "Chappie" Kuzmenko and Vega Squadron's Semion "CemaTheSlayer" Krivulya. They advanced to the Grand Finals and will face Danish squad The Imperial at a future date.
