It just happened. It really happened! Valve, after all these seven years, has finally released Dota 2 Diretide once again! Thank you!
Dataminers found Diretide 2020 files in Dota 2 game client a couple of weeks ago, but with all those words Valve said about the lack of time and resource, the belief in getting Diretide this year hang on a thin thread. Although, we're all here just totally happy to have it, right?
This year, the players need to collect candies in a Bo3 match and feed Roshan with Greevil Taffies. The event is available to all players. It will end on December 22nd.
There is little sense in describing everything there is in the Diretide 2020. It just looks like a whole new Battle Pass, with skins, activities, icons, emoticons, challenges, rewards, and more.
But the most interesting part is that Valve decided to go full nostalgia-mode. During the event, you can get the chests in regular games and in the event. They need to be opened with a paid key, it will cost $2,50. The Hallowed Chest of the Diretide contains 60 different rewards, divided into 5 ranks: you can get Diretide Emblem as the most rare item, and Immortals for Sniper, Snapfire, Juggernaut, Slark (Tier-2) and more. Moreover, you can sell all the stuff you don't like or want on the community market.
This is a truly generous move from Valve and a legendary comeback in time.
And also, Mad Moon, you say?
Guess how the community responded? Yep, everyone was amazed, surprised, and, surely, very pleased.
