Valve has announced open dates and regional qualifications for The International 2019. Dates were announced by Wykrhm "Wykrhm" Reddy - Valve's unofficial speaker.

The opened qualification will begin on July 3 and will last for four days — until the 7th. The day after its completion, a regional week-long qualification begins.

This gives teams only 30 days before the start of TI9 to resolve all visa problems. We've already seen such issue at Dota 2 tournament. However, experts say that the reviewing the applicants for a visa to China is much faster than the same procedure in the United States: sports visas can be issued in just 48 hours, provided that all documents are ready.

The main part of The International 2019 will begin on August 20 at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai. The prize fund is rapidly approaching a record high of $18 million at the time of writing against last year’s 25.
