VALORANT fans were really looking forward to April 29, because of its scheduled patch 0.49 drop and with it, Ranked Mode. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned.
After the update, many players around the world began to receive error messages while loading the game, and for others, it simply wouldn't load at all. With glitches and bugs abound, Riot made the decision not to turn on Ranked Mode as previously promised.
For those asking for ranked to be turned on - not today, sorry. We're evaluating on a day-by-day basis based on server stability and competitive integrity of the queues (e.g. no uncounterable exploits). Today is not that day. Will let you know tomorrow.

In a follow-up to the official VALORANT Twitter account's update on the situation, the game's director Joe Ziegler stated that until these issues are fixed, "we won't be turning it on." The news is disappointing, but with Riot's continued focus on providing the best experience for fans, this was only to be expected, even though VALORANT is still in beta.
With no ETA regarding when Ranked Mode will be turned on, fans will just have to make do with casual until the game is in a much better state. Hopefully, it won't take too long.
