UEFA eEuro 2020 finals will be held at Wembley Stadium in summer 2020

UEFA Euro 2020 and its esports equivalent in PES eFootball 2020 will take place days apart within the same venue

Following Konami’s recent announcement about its acquisition of the UEFA Euro 2020 license, it has now revealed more information about its upcoming PES eFootball 2020 esports tournament.

London’s Wembley Stadium will host the UEFA eEuro 2020 finals from July 9-10. It also happens to be the same venue for the actual UEFA Euro 2020 football final which takes place just two days after. The bi-annual football competition will have clubs from over 50 European countries appear in the game.

The UEFA eEuro 2020 tournament will feature 55 national teams of 2-4 PES players representing each country. The qualifiers begin this November, with only the best teams making it to the finals. The winners will win a cash prize and tickets to watch the UEFA Euro 2020 finals.

"eFootball is played by tens of millions of people across the continent, and we are delighted to give competitors from our national associations the chance to represent their country on the biggest stage," commented UEFA marketing director Guy-Laurent Epstein in a release. "We have seen massive growth in the popularity of eFootball over the past few years, and the eEURO 2020 will give us the opportunity to connect with new and existing fans of national-team football."

PES eFootball 2020 will release on September 10, with additional free downloadable content coming to the game in spring 2020.
