The companies will demonstrate dvLED control solution, which enables a consistent color workflow that accurately reproduces colors, including deep black and natural skin tones, even on mainstream COB LED panels.

At the SMPTE Media Technology Summit 2025, True Performance, a leading manufacturer of LED systems, and WePlay Studios, a content production company, will conduct a live comparison between cost-efficient 1.2 mm COB LED panels operated on a mainstream provider’s system and the new True Performance LED control platform

As part of the brands' partnership, WePlay Studios becomes True Performance's partner for the U.S. market, with access to True Performance GmbH’s newly released dvLED technology.

The demonstration will also include True’s proprietary 0.9, 1.5, and 1.8 mm Pantone-certified LED panels, capable of 120 Hz and 240 Hz output with FrameMix technology. These panels can display up to four simultaneous feeds (4×60 fps), supporting multi-view workflows in broadcast and virtual production. A full HDR pipeline will be presented using a TVLogic 310X master monitor and a RED V-Raptor XL camera, including phantom track mode that outputs dual video signals (2160p@120) from a single sensor.

The results show:

  • Uniform grayscale performance with full 26-bit gradations that preserve shadow details and eliminate unwanted color casts.
  • Improved visibility in dark areas and natural tonal transitions – compared to providers, where low gradations are missing and midtones are distorted.
  • Up to 17% lower power consumption through optimal control and perfect regulation of all processes, resulting in a cost-efficient power solution with reduced heat generation and optimized HVAC costs.
  • A consistent digital color workflow that enhances color accuracy even on standard dvLED panels by transmitting the original source signal directly and without distortion to the screen surface.

This initiative was born from the desire to unite the best of LED, cinema, and broadcast technology under one roof. Not to impress, but to inspire,” said Aleksii Gutiantov, head of virtual production at WePlay Studios. “We build this experience in partnership with the industry’s most forward-thinking minds because shared innovation drives meaningful change. At WePlay Studios, we believe virtual production is both a tool and a language that brings together directors, engineers, artists, broadcasters, and visionaries to craft the future of content. We are not only creating color-accurate pipelines, we are building the future of production together.”
