Tropico 6 was expected to release this month, but sadly, we'll have to wait till March to experience the long-awaited sequel to humorous economic strategy series. Kalypso Media has made an official announcement regarding the changes in the release plans, and as always the shift is due to the necessity to give developers some extra time.
Simon Hellwig, Managing Director of Kalypso Media, has reached Tropico fans in an open letter, which you can read via the link. He claims, that Tropico 6 feels really good after hours of playtime which he dedicated to the game over the weekend, but being good is not enough in his opinion. The game should be great, it should be outstanding, thus it returns for an additional development cycle which will hopefully fulfill Hellwig's dreams.
The game now releases on March 29. Pushing release dates back is always not a welcomed move by the community, and to sweeten the bitter news a little Kalypso has decided to give the first DLC for the game, planned to release in Q2 2019, for free - but the free access is only granted to those players who have pre-ordered Tropico 6 before January 10.
Now that's what should be called a perfect example of clever working with the passionate community. Well done, Kalypso!
