Ubisoft claimed that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms had close to 8 million registrations worldwide

And another F2P game bites the dust. Ubisoft has just announced that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms will go offline on December 1st. Ghost Recon Phantoms was a tactical, 3rd-person, team-based shooter that allows players to engage in fierce 16-player online matches, and was released on April 10th, 2014.

As the Ghost Recon Phantoms team wrote:

“The shutdown of the game will take place on December the 1st. The game will stay available until then, and we wish you a lot of fights until the end. The in game shop will remain available, but you won’t have any more the possibility to purchase Ghost Coins. “

And that is that.

For the record, back in December 2014, Ubisoft claimed that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms had close to 8 million registrations worldwide and was among the top ten free-to-play games on Steam.
