The Coronavirus COVID-19 continues to plague the world as it spreads across nations. Several events and functions have either been canceled or postponed in a bid to protect attendees from infection, and one more fighting game tournament joins the list.
Bandai Namco has announced that one of its Tekken World Tour events, Tokyo Tekken Masters, has been postponed. No new date was shared, only that the event would take place later in the year after the situation has improved. The company added in its release;
"Our goal and focus is to provide safe and healthy conditions for all of our tournaments to take place."
As companies and tournament organizers keep a close eye on current developments, more events could be postponed or canceled if the threat continues to spread. Capcom recently canceled three Capcom Pro Tour events, and also was Brussels Challenge 2020. However, there are many more events that still plan to take place, like EVO 2020.
Tokyo Tekken Masters was previously scheduled to hold from April 4-5, 2020.
