In a statement of his own, Tokido thanked the international organization for picking him and advised his fellow athletes to pay as much attention to their health and well being as to their training. As his goals align with the Federation's, together, they will continue to empower esports athletes and pave the way for sustainable career paths in the industry.
Tokido began his fighting game career playing multiple titles like BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, Tekken, and The King of Fighters. Through the years he earned significant victories at major events, but would eventually focus all his attention on Street Fighter V in 2016. His wins during events like EVO and Canada Cup proved that he had only become a stronger player by sticking to one esports title.
Currently signed to Rohto, Tokido also played for the top tier teams Mad Katz and Echo Fox for a couple of years. His most recent accolade is a first-place win at Topanga Championship 2020, where he dominated some of Japan's best Street Fighter V players, including his longtime rival, Daigo "The Beast" Umehara.
