TNC Predator has defeated Vici Gaming in the MDL Chengdu Major Grand Final today in the best-of-5 match. The Southeast Asia team beat them 3-1.
VG first encountered TNC in the Upper Bracket Final, where they defeated the SEA team 2-0. TNC fought hard in the hour-long second game of the best-of-3 but failed to equalize, leading to their loss. In the Lower Bracket Final, TNC faced Invictus Gaming, who suffered their wrath as the SEA were determined to get a second chance at the trophy. TNC beat iG 2-0.
The rematch between TNC and VG went nothing like their first encounter as TNC managed to win the first two games in about 30 minutes each. Realizing their opponents had evolved, VG bolstered their efforts to secure the third game after almost forty minutes. Knowing they only had one chance left, VG fought hard to win the fourth game while TNC did everything they could to prevent that. After another hour-long game, TNC emerged victorious with the scores 3-1.
Their victory earned TNC Predator a $300,000 prize and 4,850 DPC points while runners up, Vici Gaming took home $160,000 and 3,000 DPC points. In third place was Invictus Gaming with $110,000 and 2,100 DPC points.
MDL Chengdu Major took place in the Chinese city of Chengdu, Sichuan. The tournament ran from November 16-24 with a total prize pool of $ 1,000,000 and 15,000 DPC points. The next event in the DPC 2019/2020 season is WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020, taking place from January 9-12.
