TNC Predator made Southeast Asia proud after an exciting series in which they beat Gambit Esports to win the ESL One Hamburg title.
Earlier in the Playoffs, both teams met in the Upper Bracket Finals, and Gambit lost 0-2. The Russian organisation then faced Alliance in the Upper Bracket Finals and after a lengthy third game, managed to qualify for the Grand Finals.
Their rematch against TNC didn't go like their first matchup, but it also didn't go as Gambit had planned. The SEA team demolished their opponents in the first game, taking the win after 23 minutes. In game two, Gambit rallied behind Danil “gpk” Skutin and Kiyalbek “dream” Tayirov in an unrelenting show of force. This strategy won them the second game and proved they meant business this time.
Game three saw a close battle in the middle, with both teams giving no quarter. Unfortunately for Gambit, they eventually lost to TNC after some great play from Timothy “Tims” Randrup.
With elimination staring them in the face, Gambit forced a series of team fights which they won. Dominating the lanes, they secured another win. Game five could have gone Gambit's way, with a repeat of the last game their likely plan. Instead, TNC's combination of Armel Alchemist and Gabbi’s Bristleback was able to snatch victory from Gambit in a 30-minute game.
ESL One Hamburg marks TNC's first LAN victory of the season. Park "March" Tae-won also received the Mercedes-Benz MVP award for his contribution to TNC's success. They walked home with $125,000.
