Epic Games had an Epic Year - and so did its CEO Tim Sweeney. His main child in the form of Fortnite accumulates fantastic profits which consequently contribute to Sweeney's own financial state.

Sweeney's grand success was noticed by Bloomberg, and he now occupies the 195th place among world's 500 richest people. Epic's CEO is worth $7,16 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. You might consider this is all due to the Fortnite's enormous success, but Business Insider notes that Sweeney has a long practice of running a prosperous company - which of course results in the aforementioned situation with Fortnite.

That is actually a sign of a greatly executed financial direction, as Fortnite costs nothing to play - but the in-game microtransactions attract huge amounts of money. The game became the most popular Battle Royale title in the world having dethroned PUBG many months ago - and while we are losing Epic Games as a diverse developer, you can't ignore how well the company runs under Sweeney's control.

There're obviously some other directions among Epic's activities. The company is responsible for popular Unreal Engine, which is the technology of choice for many games on the market - and Epic receives royalties when these games reach the customers' wallets. Speaking of fresh business decisions, Epic has launched Epic Games Store which is a direct competitor to Steam and has a lot of potential.

Considering all of the said above, Sweeney's 195th position is likely to be just the beginning - and Epic's CEO will continue climbing to the top.
