Since the outbreak of the coronavirus in China, its spread to other parts of the world. As a result, several esports events have either been canceled or postponed. Capcom has joined the growing list of companies that are putting health before wealth.
On February 28, 2020, Capcom announced on Twitter that three Capcom Pro Tour events had been canceled. What this means is, whether these events take place or not, they will no longer reward participants with CPT points. The events removed from the tour are Brussels Challenge 2020, Norcal Regionals 2020, and April Annihilation 2020.

Shortly after Capcom's announcement, Brussels Challenge creator, Younes "CCL" Lazaar announced the cancellation of the tournament's 2020 edition. However, Norcal Regionals organizer, John Choi, stated that his event will still take place as planned.
This is with profound sadness that we have to cancel #brusselschallenge 2020 due to the increasing risks associated with the Coronavirus outbreak. This decision did not come lightly.

While disappointed, we fully respect Capcom’s decision to put safety above all else. While no CPT points will be awarded, NCR is still taking place as scheduled. We will continue to monitor and take additional actions if needed.

Following Brussels Challenge's cancellation, Arc System Works announced the tournament's removal from their event list, but they made no mention of Final Round 2020, which takes place the same weekend. Whatever Arc System Works decides to do about Final Round 2020, it would appear that the organizers are still going ahead with the event as they posted a signup reminder yesterday on Twitter.
Brussels Challenge was to be the first event of the Capcom Pro Tour. With all three events removed from the tour, the circuit won't begin until April when The MIXUP 2020 takes place in Lyon, France. SNK World Championship is another fighting game tournament circuit that has had events canceled to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
As publishers, developers, and organizers continue to observe the Covid-19 situation; even more tournaments could be canceled or postponed. Yet, it's a small price to pay to protect the health of all members of the FGC.
