THREAT to replace pyth at MLG Columbus due to visa issues

Ninjas in Pyjamas coach Björn "THREAT" Pers will replace Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi at MLG Major Championship: Columbus due to visa problems, the organization announced Sunday.

In the statement, Ninjas in Pyjamas said that the process to obtain pyth’s visa has “taken longer than expected and we have been told by the Embassy the visa will be issued during next week.”

“We have through the last week been in dialogue with Major League Gaming and Valve, where we have proposed different solutions,” the organization said in their press release. “One of the proposed solutions is to start the tournament with THREAT and replacing him with pyth, when the visa is issued and he is eligible for travel. We are awaiting a final decision from Valve and MLG on the matter.”

pyth is the most recent member to join NiP, joining the team in December after Alezsi “allu” Jalli left the team. THREAT joined the team as a coach in January.

NiP most recently competed at Intel Extreme Masters X - World Championship in Katowice, Poland, where the new roster finished in 9-10 place. The team earned an invite to Columbus Major after placing in the Top 8 of DreamHack Cluj-Napoca 2015.

MLG Major Championship: Columbus runs from March 29 to April 3 in Columbus, Ohio, and features a $1,000,000 prize pool.
