The U.S. Court forbid distribution of cheat software for GTA Online

So sue me! I just did…. FBI, OPEN UP!

Take-Two studio has filed a lawsuit against David Zipperer. He created cheat modes Menyoo and Absolute for Grand Theft Auto Online that allowed spawning almost infinite number of in-game currency and even resort to griefing others around you by altering other players’ gameplay.

A federal judge awarded Take-Two a preliminary injunction to stop Zipperer from selling the software. The court decided that the programs created by him not only affected the game reputation but also discouraged other users from buying the game. According to Take-Two statement, the company lost around $500,000 because of Zipperer’s software.

The court also thinks Take-Two will be able to invest more into game production thanks to how the case is reviewed and resolved.
