The recent announcement of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has caused a lot of discussion in the gaming community, and now it is slowly beginning to acquire new details. Even though the release will take place only in early 2020, developers are already sharing information directly related to the functioning of the ecosystem and gameplay mechanics.
The creative director of the game Martin Ka’ai Cluney told the DualShockers website that we shouldn’t expect a standard day and night cycle in the game, which has already become a standard feature for all RPG and open world projects. The existing concept works much better at night by this decision of the team, and too few innovations could offer in the light of the day.
You can recall, for example, the Batman Arkham series with similar limitations. Such decisions are made to preserve the whole aesthetics and deeper immersion in the plot. It’s almost always around 1:30 am in the world of Bloodlines 2 when the majority of city dwellers are already at home, but round-the-clock bars and some other public institutions continue to work.
The main character becomes the cause of the civil war between the vampire factions in the story. He joined one of the clans of Seattle to survive, trying to understand the system of alliances. Each action and decision of the player have their consequences. The developers have focused on the fact that the player will have to reincarnate as a vampire. This will leave a noticeable impression on the gameplay - yet the “bloodsucking” have more different skills than the average person.
The release of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will take place in the first quarter of 2020 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
