The last season of The Walking Dead will be Epic Games Store exclusive

The Walking Dead: The Final Season became a project with a tough fate. Just think about it: back when it all started, adventures of Lee and Clementine found a place in hearts of many players, bringing fresh experience unseen before. Then popularity and player engagement started decreasing, while the core audience stuck to the game and had hope the story would get a worthy sequel. 

Later on, due to financial difficulties Telltale Games had to stop the development amidst the final season, which is now in good hands of Skybound Games. Until recent days there was almost no news on the matter, except for the remaining episodes would see the world “very soon”. As of today, the clouds are cleared a bit but there’s a fun twist concerning PC users. 

Those who purchased the game on Steam or GOG will be able to download the new episodes on the same platform but for others it will be available on Epic Store only. 

The game already has a personal page on the store but so far no information on the price tag was revealed, given the preorder is not open yet. 

Also, as an alternative, users will be able to download entire season for free, if they have Season Pass on that specific distribution platform. Release of the game is planned for January 15. Unfortunately, Skybound already confirmed they are not working on other Telltale series right now.
