The International 2020 Qualifiers will have a new system ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!

The International 2019 is almost here, and while you are either preparing you Compendium predictions or trying to do the maths which Group is more interesting, Valve has had a meeting with players, managers and team coaches about the upcoming tournament as well as about what are we going to see the next year.

It has been said that in the next year, The International will have a different Qualification system: there will be a common qualifier for Minors and Majors! Minors prize funds will be adjusted too. A single but huge Group Stage, the top teams will get right into Majors, losing teams will get into Minors. It's not quite understandable on how's it going to look regarding streams and broadcasts.

But the whole idea is great because the recent Qualifiers took a lot of time — two weeks of play. Imagine that the teams have just finished their Majors and were pushed into the Qualifiers

Valve hasn't said anything more about regional quotas. No more details, but we will keep you updated. Lakad Matatag!
