Another Qualifiers day in three regions (China, Europe and North America) is gone. The fate of the teams - the future participants of TI9 in Shanghai, was decided. The last day brought us many matches in bo3 format, all in the Playoffs.
North America
Yesterday North America witnessed four matches with an almost stable 2:0, with the exception of the Kookaburra vs. J.Storm match, which ended with 2:1 score. The undisputed leader of the day was Forward Gaming, who easily beat Kookaburra and then threw Beastcoast into the Lower Bracket. Today, the J.Storm and Beastcoast teams will find out who will be the rival for Forward Gaming in the Playoffs final.
Europe
An unexpected leader has appeared in the European region. The Final Tribe confidently went through the Playoffs' Upper Bracket, beating Chaos EC and Hippomaniacs with the same 2:1 score. Now the team is waiting for its opponent in the final.
Aachen Esports were eliminated without the opportunity to go to Shanghai — they couldn't win a single map against both Hippomaniacs and Chaos EC. The latter, in turn, surprised fans by losing to The Final Tribe and hitting the Playoffs' Lower Bracket. However, they still hold on and today they will have to play against Hippomaniacs for reaching the final and the opportunity to participate in TI9.
China
The Chinese team EHOME pleased the fans at first by winning against Invictus Gaming in the Upper Bracket with 2:0 score, and then they were defeated by the CDEC team with the same score. Moreover, another match took place between EHOME and Royal Never Give Up late at night, where the sensation of the current year managed to snatch victory from EHOME and send them to rest without the opportunity to compete in the main tournament of the year.
By the way, about the sensational team — RNG went through the Playoffs' Lower Bracket, smashing Invictus Gaming with 2:0 score, and then with a noticeable effort took 2 maps from EHOME and ended up in the final against CDEC. The game in bo5 format is live right now!
Meanwhile, The International 2019 prize pool increased to $28.000.000, breaking the last year record by more than $3.000.000.
